DC Greens works collaboratively with The Farm at Walker Jones to coordinate Wednesday field trips throughout the school year. Field trips are two hours in length and are offered in the morning or the afternoon, beginning at either 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Field trips include a tour and overview of the various elements of the farm, a beehive demonstration, small group hands-on farming activities and a food preparation activity. The students will learn about plant parts and life cycles, soil health, pests, beneficial insects and pollinators and the nutritional benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables!

The Farm at Walker Jones is centrally located at New Jersey Avenue and 1st Street NW, with easy access to multiple bus lines and a short walk to the Union Station metro.
